Water Shortages Will Be A National Problem In Next 10 Years

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) said that most states will have water shortages within the next decade, as reported by Quartz. All focus nationally by the media in recent months has obviously been on California, with the new water bans in place and the severe drought conditions, but that’s not the end of the story.

Due to California’s size, climate and amount of agriculture, they are the most susceptible to water shortages. As we’ve seen, dealing with this crisis has been reactive. With other states seeing what happened in California, it’s only logical that precautions began rolling out to preserve one of the world’s most important natural resources.

The GOA claims that states on the west coast are not the only ones drying out, but there are states on the east coast that are already becoming abnormal. This is an important article to check out because, at the end of the day, it’s our awareness that will hopefully keep water supplies at a manageable level..
