Are You Drinking Enough Water?

Are You Drinking Enough Water?

You can search “how much water should I drink a day?” online and find a lot of disagreement as to how much is the optimal amount for a person to consume a day. We’ve all heard the eight glasses a day of water, but some people swear by as much as three liters a day. While we don’t plan on solving this argument right now, we do have some things to think about when deciding what the best amount of water is for you.

Usually, you’ll know you’re hydrated when your urine is a light yellow; not completely clear, and obviously not a motor oil looking substance. In the latter case, we’d say hydrate now!

The amount of water your body requires depends on some different factors. What is the climate you live in? How active are you? How do you feel? How does your skin look? Are you having digestive difficulties? These are all questions to ask yourself when deciding how much water you need.

The best idea is to just drink water. Sip it through the day and you’ll definitely get enough. Also understand though that there is such a thing as too much water. Excessive amounts of water will add strain to your body, not the opposite. So if you find yourself constantly in the restroom, odds are you’re drinking too much. You’ll know you hit your optimum by the way you feel. When in doubt, take a sip!
