Michelin-awarded, James Beard "Tastemaker" Cehf Michael Bao Huynh heads up Sovereign Kitchen + Bar, a concept from Asian restaurateur Alex Thao recently opened in San Diego's renowned Gaslamp District. Guests can expect to enjoy some of Hyung's signature dishes that made him famous in New York as well as new creations like organic chicken clay pot with quail eggs, ginger and caramel; crispy sweet and sour red snapper; BBQ short rib on lemongrass skewer; or his well-loved yucca waffle made with coconut and salted caramel ice cream.

Of Note: Chef Michael Bao Hyunh won a Michelin Bib Award two years in a row for his OBAO restaurant in New York, coached the Vietnamese team in the 2014 Asia Pacific Bocuse d'Or competition and was recently featured on Iron Chef Vietnam.
