This recently-opened restaurant is located in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), is a new concept both equally gastronomic as it is artistic. Chef Corey Lee creates a mosaic of the world’s best dishes using direct knowledge from chefs around the world in a collaborative nature; each dish highlights what each chef deems to be a local specialty, and each dish is treated as its own artwork in a gallery of pieces that is the restaurant. As Paolo Lucchesi notes in the San Francisco Chronicle, In Situ brings affordable haute-gastronomy that becomes art, which is interesting given the current consumer trend to photograph meals, transforming food an art form in itself.
